About Springwell Alternative Academy Lincoln

Nurturing Potential, Inspiring Futures

Welcome to Springwell Alternative Academy Lincoln, a specialist provision dedicated to supporting and re-engaging children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are a cornerstone of the Springwell Learning Community Lincolnshire and a proud member of the Wellspring Academy Trust.

At Springwell Lincoln, we believe in the transformative power of a fresh start. Our dedicated team is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where every student, from Reception through to Key Stage 4, is given the opportunity to thrive. We understand that traditional educational settings are not always the right fit for every child. Here, we offer a bespoke, trauma-informed approach that addresses the individual needs of each student, fostering their academic, personal, and social development.

Our Vision: A Community of Belief and Achievement

Our vision is simple: to be a beacon of outstanding educational practice for children and young people with SEMH needs. We strive to create a community built on belief – belief in our students’ potential, belief in their capacity to succeed, and belief in the power of a supportive and understanding community. We work collaboratively with families, mainstream schools, and external agencies to ensure that every child has a clear pathway to a positive and fulfilling future, whether that be a successful return to mainstream education, a transition to a specialist provision, or progression to further education and employment.

Our Ethos: Unconditional Positive Regard

Central to our philosophy is the principle of “unconditional positive regard.” We meet our students where they are, offering acceptance, empathy, and a non-judgmental space for them to learn and grow. Our highly skilled and compassionate staff are experts in understanding the complexities of SEMH needs and are dedicated to building strong, trusting relationships with our students.

What We Do: A Holistic Approach to Education

Springwell Lincoln provides a broad and balanced curriculum that is not only academically ambitious but also rich in therapeutic and vocational opportunities. We recognize that for our students to succeed academically, their emotional and social needs must first be met. Our curriculum is designed to:

  • Re-engage and Inspire: We offer a dynamic and engaging learning experience that captures our students’ interests and helps them to rediscover a love of learning.
  • Develop Core Skills: A strong emphasis is placed on literacy and numeracy to equip our students with the fundamental skills necessary for success in all aspects of their lives.
  • Promote Well-being: Through a range of targeted interventions, therapeutic support, and enrichment activities, we help our students to develop their self-esteem, resilience, and emotional regulation skills.
  • Prepare for the Future: We provide our older students with clear pathways to post-16 education, employment, or training, ensuring they are well-prepared for the next chapter of their lives.

Our Commitment to Families

We recognise that the journey of a child with SEMH needs involves the whole family. We are committed to working in close partnership with parents and carers, offering regular communication, support, and a welcoming open-door policy. We believe that by working together, we can achieve the very best outcomes for our young people.

Springwell Lincoln is more than just a school; it is a community of hope, opportunity, and unwavering support. We invite you to explore our website further and discover how we are making a difference in the lives of the children and young people we serve.
